NOTE: I have written to both the manufacturer and the utility to provide me an explanation of the camera/flashlight arrangement in the optical port. But both are yet to do so. The manufacturer then removed these “interchangeable optical modules” from their website.

My privacy was invaded via this camera in my Hub smart by data electricians next door.

My smart meters: The hub smart meter with the camera in the interchangeable optical port is the black Single phase meter to the left. The meter to the right is a 3 phase meter with no camera in the optical port.

THIS IS THE UDA RF INTERCEPTION ANTENNA PLACED OVER MY HUB SMART METER CAMERA WITHOUT MY PERMISSION IN ORDER TO INTERCEPT RF SIGNAL IMAGE DATA 11 FT BELOW.

When I found this UDA RF antenna it had not been registered by the electricians next door. They would be aware that plans indicate that switch boards and thus smart meters sit in same position along all walls on the property. Thus they would have been aware that their RF signal capture antenna was sitting over a smart meter that communicates via RF signal to the tower.

The smart meter type is a Landis+Gry E350 single phase, series 2 (Black)

The Landis+Gyr E350 Series 2 (often recognized by its black, interchangeable modular design) is a high-performance, smart electricity meter designed for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). It is part of the U-series (e.g., U1200, U1300, U3300) and is designed for residential and commercial single-phase or three-phase connections, offering high-accuracy, 4-quadrant measurement. 

This series of Smart meter comes with interchangeable optical ports and so can be with camera or without.

Electricians can now do device readings via this USB lead to the left and so the optical port is now available to have the camera/flashlight module installed in the optical port. This option was incorporated in 2022. Note in the below image the optical port is without camera and flashlight.

CAMERA IN THE OPTICAL PORT

The camera in the optical port is a big claim as it opens up a can of worms in relation to privacy and the ultimate objectives of modern smart meters. As all our data moves through these smart meters and thus why they are referred to as HUB smart meters. So logical conclusions will be drawn that image data along with the already captured data within a dwelling now allows for hub smart meters to be working at their optimal technology. And so are now able to complement our other smart devices like iPhones and tablets that also use RF signal to communicate to the national communications grid (towers). Thus giving a complete picture of our daily activities for a future surveillance state. It is now my strong belief that the data electricians who would be on top of the latest smart technology due to their trade have recognised these surveillance objectives and have taken advantage.

Explanation of camera lens and flashlight.

This brand in question with the camera flashlight in the smart meter is in my research the first type where the optical port went from a fixed position or solid part of the casing of the smart meter to one where the optical port is an interchangeable port and so is not part of the casing.

MY EXPLANATION OF WHY THIS CAN ONLY BE A CAMERA IN MY SMART METER

Only a very small group of lenses come in curvature. These are spectacles and other types of optical lenses in magnification like microscopes, magnifying glasses and binoculars. But they do not have a cmos sensor unless it is a camera attached to a microscope like in a laboratory environment or a telescopic attached to a camera.

A laser has a reversed lens in order create a pinpoint in front of the lens and so outside the device itself and so this is not a laser. Also lasers do not come with a supporting flashlight. See diagram below.

Cameras lens were based on the human eye. So the lens in the smart meters have a similar curvature as an eyeball (cornea) in order to help along with the iris (aperture) . Focus the full spectrum of light onto one point on the retina at the centre back of the eye.or in this case the cmos sensor performing a similar function to a retina. See diagram below.

See below that all types of cmos sensor are only rectangle in shape.

In order for images to be taken inside of your dwelling at night. A flashlight will be required to work in unison with and in proximity to the camera.

User manual:

I have been unable to find the user manual for this specific type of smart meter anywhere. on Landis+Gry own website (landisgyr.com) the smart meter brand with the camera has been removed altogether. All searches give another type of meter with the original basic optical port of earlier models. These original basic optical ports now seem to have been applied back into the latest models as well. What happened? The design is also different and the colour is white (see example below). This is concerning as there is now very many smart meters that have been installed into many homes and businesses across Australia with an actual camera in them that the occupants would be unaware of!

If anyone can find the manual on the Landis+Gry E350 series 2 black (with interchangeable optical port) and send it to me I would be most appreciative. It is the model below right.
